Kapur started his professional life as a trainee at Munich’s BMW. In order to gain experience in the field, he interned for the summer of 1991 at TRW Koyo in Tennessee. After that, in 1996, he began working for Sona Koyo Steering Ltd. in the human resources division of the Sona Group. In 2003, he founded Sona e-Design to facilitate the conversion of 2D to 3D design (data migration), and he was appointed managing director of Sona Sonic Lemforder Co.
In addition, Kapur established Sixt, a vehicle rental business, in 2005 and assumed control of the Sona Mobility Services Ltd. franchise in India. He oversaw the company’s growth to five sites in India while serving as Sixt’s MD and CEO.
